An Open Letter...

To all Scientologists, Ex-Scientologists, their family, their friends, and their loved ones:

Over the past months we have seen much progress in our cause. On February 10th, we fought for Lisa. On March 15th we fought for taxation of the Church.

On April 12th we want to fight once again... for you. There are many reasons to fight the Church of Scientology: their "fair game" policy, their moneymaking schemes, their love of litigation... but most of all, we fight for the people it has so deeply harmed.

Operation Reconnect is our first event to connect and reconnect those of you who have been so affected. We invite you to come together with us, share your stories, your experiences, and to let the world know the true nature of Scientology. There will be food, and music, and much fun.

On April 12th we want to lend you our voice to tell your stories. We are your legion. We do not forgive what has been done to you.

We have not forgotten you. Join us on April 12th.

April 12th: Operation Reconnect

Anonymous Announces Operation Reconnect

In our continuing efforts against the Church of Scientology, Anonymous is launching Operation Reconnect. Projected to take place in the month of April, this operation will shine a spotlight on families torn apart by the Church of Scientology. "The aim is to bring these families together," commented an organizer who identified himself as David Mudkip.

The name of this operation stems from the Church of Scientology's notorious 'disconnection policy', under which individuals within the Church are forbidden contact with those whom the Church deems to be a threat to its security. This policy is used frequently by the Church of Scientology to separate families, creating a rift between those outside the Church and those trapped within it. This also serves the purpose of removing any social supports an individual has outside the Church, making it more difficult for them to end their affiliation with this organization.

Since Anonymous set out on a campaign against the Church of Scientology, a number of individuals have stepped forth with accounts of their personal experiences within the Church. Many of these people described the negative influence exerted by the Church of Scientology on their families. On April 12th some of these individuals will be relating their experiences to the public as speakers at peaceful demonstrations.

March 15th: Operation Party Hard!

Join us on the Ides of March - March 15th!

Anonymous is arranging protests at Scientology building and facilities worldwide on March 15th, 2008, and starting at 11am local time. Our protests are peaceful and strictly non-violent.

Anons and even some of their grandmothers are expected to hit the streets again to celebrate L. Ron Hubbard's birthday, to the tune of Yakety Sax. ~~Protests are~~ Delicious cake is currently being ~~planned~~ baked in the following global regions:

Getting the Message Across

A group of people standing on the street holding signs never fails to grab attention. But what is key to that working is having signs that send a clear & concise message:

Big bold letters- preferably in one color, able to be read clearly from passing motorists & foot traffic.
Avoid using any slang terminology.
Make the message short & to the point.
Add in a short website for further information.

The signs are best made of either white cardboard, or white paper on cardboard, attached with adhesive. Plywood or light plastic pipe works sufficient to hold your sign up but nothing too heavy or cumbersome; you want to be able to be mobile.

We try to avoid hateful or overtly profane messages, and urge that your sign focus on one of the various crimes that the Church of Scientology has committed, rather than the beliefs of scientologists.

Pamphlets and Flyers

Pamphlets are an excellent low cost way to help in spreading your message. Like the sign the pamphlet should be clear & concise & be interesting enough to hold attention. Fair game policy, child abuse/slave labor, and government infiltration are perfect topics. Also add a website address which leads the reader to further relevant information.

Other important information:

Safety in numbers: Picketing alone is not advisable!
Stay on public property: You may be charged for trespassing if you do not.
No violence: The demonstration needs to be a peaceful event.
Document the demonstration: Videos and pictures of the event may be used to corroborate your side of the story if law enforcement get involved.
Comply with the orders of law enforcement officers above all else: Do not request badge numbers unless you are being treated in a very abusive manner.
